Calibration Services
Calibration is the process of comparing an instrument against a reference standard of known accuracy, determining whether it performs within its required tolerance, and documenting the result. Every calibration we perform is completed on-site at your facility, using NIST-traceable reference standards, with full as-found and as-left data recorded so you know the condition of every instrument before and after our visit.
Your equipment never leaves your facility. Your records are ready for your QA team or auditor without additional processing.
Instruments We Calibrate
Temperature
Resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), thermocouples, temperature transmitters, temperature switches, and reference thermometers. Calibrated by comparison against a NIST-traceable reference probe and precision thermometer readout. Applicable to process temperature monitoring, critical control points in food safety plans, environmental monitoring, and TTB proof determination at distilleries.
Pressure
Gauge, differential, and absolute pressure transmitters, pressure gauges, and pressure switches. Calibrated across ranges from inches of water column through process pressure ranges using automated pressure generation and NIST-traceable reference standards. Applicable to process pressure monitoring, CIP system verification, tank pressure, and regulatory compliance documentation.
Differential Pressure
Low range differential pressure transmitters and gauges used in HVAC, cleanroom, and process applications. Calibrated using precision differential pressure modules with NIST-traceable reference standards.
Flow
Process flow meters including magnetic, Coriolis, and mechanical types. Verified using gravimetric collection against a certified scale with NIST-traceable calibration. Applicable to TTB beer meter compliance under 27 CFR 25.42, where a specific accuracy tolerance and documentation requirement applies. This is one of the most commonly cited TTB audit findings at small breweries.
pH
Process and portable pH instruments calibrated using NIST-traceable buffer solutions. Applicable to mash chemistry monitoring, CIP verification, and food safety plan critical control points.
Conductivity and ORP
Process conductivity and oxidation-reduction potential instruments. Applicable to water quality monitoring and CIP chemical concentration verification.
Room Temperature and Humidity
Temperature and relative humidity instruments used in environmental monitoring, warehouse qualification support, and controlled storage areas. Calibrated using NIST-traceable reference standards with combined temperature and humidity capability.
Hydrometers
Proof hydrometers used for distilled spirits proof determination under TTB 27 CFR Part 30. Verified against NIST-traceable reference standards at temperature-corrected conditions per TTB gauging manual requirements.
LEL and Combustible Gas Detectors
Lower explosive limit detectors and combustible gas monitors calibrated using NIST-traceable certified span gas with certificate of analysis. Alarm setpoints verified. Applicable to distillery production and storage areas where ethanol vapor is present.
CO2 Monitors
Carbon dioxide monitors calibrated using certified span gas. Applicable to brewery fermentation areas where CO2 accumulation at floor level presents an oxygen displacement hazard.
Tank Level and Gauging Devices
Tank gauging instrumentation used for TTB tax determination at distilled spirits plants. Calibration chart certification per 27 CFR Part 19 requirements.
Methodology
Every calibration follows a documented procedure with defined test points, acceptance criteria, and uncertainty analysis. Records include the instrument identification, location, calibration date, reference standard used, NIST traceability chain, as-found reading at each test point, adjustment made if any, as-left reading at each test point, pass or fail determination, and technician identification.
Records are issued in a format suitable for direct submission to your QA team, regulatory auditor, or TTB officer without modification.
Reference standards are calibrated by ISO 17025 accredited laboratories with current calibration certificates on file.
